Anthony Grafitti is an attorney by training and has practiced real estate and real estate finance law at a large Arizona-based regional law firm, and most recently, at Ballard Spahr’s Phoenix office, where he was a member of Ballard Spahr’s Real Estate Department, Housing Group and the firm’s Distressed Real Estate Initiative.
Mr. Grafitti has worked with several of the nation's largest CMBS Special Servicers, on-balance sheet lenders and investment funds on various aspects of their operations related to distressed real estate, distressed loans and property management.  He has participated on both the buy-side and sell-side of whole loan sales and sales of assets from REO and receiverships.  In the distressed loan resolution context, Mr. Grafitti has deep experience in various loan resolution methods, including, receivership actions, deeds in lieu of foreclosure, discounted payoffs/short sales, foreclosures, and loan workouts, recapitalizations and restructurings, and other distressed real estate areas and related due diligence.
Mr. Grafitti has participated in numerous sizeable non-distressed real estate transactions, with a particular emphasis on multifamily assets, including, reviewing and negotiating loan documents, purchase agreements, and related agreements with municipalities, sellers, buyers, and lenders; reviewing and drafting construction, project-related infrastructure, and development agreements; and performing extensive due diligence investigations, advising on CC&Rs, easements, and title and survey matters and loan document review.  Mr. Grafitti also has broad experience in all facets of implementing and operating condominium regimes, including, drafting and reviewing condominium documents, as well as homeowners' and condominium unit owners' governance documents and handling related subdivision issues.
Mr. Grafitti has done extensive work with a leading national developer and redeveloper of multifamily assets and condominium projects in all aspects of land acquisition and development and acquisition and disposition of completed product, including financing for acquisition and construction and equity partnership matters related to its projects.  He has also done extensive work for one of the country's largest REITs in the disposition of apartment projects throughout the United States and other matters related to its operations.

Mr. Grafitti received his undergraduate degree from Arizona State University and attended law school at the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University, where he graduated Cum Laude.  He currently maintains an Arizona real estate sales license.
